The exhibition is not just sculptures, but also paintings and wood carvings.

The newly elected warden of MRC Pontiac (also mayor of Fort Coulonge), Raymond Durocher has announced he will donate part of his salary ($3000) to community events and causes.
$500 to Bouffe Pontiac (food bank).
$500 to Golf tournament fundraiser organised by SQ and MRC Pontiac.
$1000 to Pontiac scholarships.
$1000 to the regional art collection.

Soirée bénéfice et encan silencieux d’œuvres d’art
Vous êtes invités à célébrer avec nous lors d’une Soirée bénéfice et encan silencieux d’œuvres d’art, le samedi 14 avril à 19h, à l’École en pierre de Portage-du-Fort.
Le prix du billet de 10 $ comprend le café, le thé et les desserts, et une musique d’ambiance offerte par le groupe «Hurry Up and Wait » d’Ottawa, ainsi que par d’autres invités tels Phillip Holmes, Erica Vezeau, et Kate Morgan.
Il y aura des prix de présence, un encan silencieux d’oeuvres offertes par des artistes du Pontiac de même que du vin, de la bière et un bar à café "spécial" payants.
Tous les profits iront aux activités de l'Association des artistes du Pontiac (AAP), promoteur de l'École des arts du Pontiac, de la Tournée des ateliers d’artistes du Pontiac, de la galerie de l’École de pierre et du projet de Résidence d’artistes. Récipiendaire d’un prix et gérée par des bénévoles, l’AAP est un organisme artistique connu dans l'ouest du Québec pour son succès dans la promotion des arts et de la culture et pour sa contribution à la vie culturelle de notre communauté.
Nous sommes fiers que notre petite communauté rurale possède un tel centre dynamique pour les arts visuels..

Fundraising Party and Silent Art Auction
You are invited to celebrate with us at a Fundraising Party and Silent Art Auction, Saturday April 14, 7 pm, at the Stone School in Portage-du-Fort.
The $10 ticket price includes coffee, tea and desserts along with musical entertainment provided by Ottawa band ‘Hurry Up and Wait’ with additional guests, Phillip Holmes, Erica Vezeau, and Kate Morgan.
There will be door prizes and a silent auction featuring artworks donated by Pontiac artists along with a cash wine, beer and specialty coffee bar.
All proceeds will go towards the operation of the Pontiac Artists’ Association (PAA), promoter of the Pontiac School of the Arts, the Pontiac Artist’s Studio Tour, the Stone School Gallery and the Artists’ Residency Project. The PAA is an award-winning volunteer-run arts organization known throughout West Quebec for its success in promoting arts and culture and contributing to the cultural life of our community.
We are proud that our small rural community has such a vibrant center for the visual arts.

Arts fundraiser
“Art vivant dans le Pontiac” – Soirée bénéfice
L’Association des artistes du Pontiac organise une soirée bénéfice au profit de l’association. Toute la population du Pontiac sera invitée à célébrer à l’école de Portage-du-Fort le 14 avril 2012. Le coût de la soirée sera de 8$ et inclura café, thé, desserts et musique. Le groupe de musiciens d’Ottawa, le « HURRY UP AND WAIT », accompagné de ses invités Phillip Holmes, Erica Vezeau, et Kate Morgan réchauffera l’ambiance. Scott Judd sera MC pour la soirée.
Nous vendrons de la bière et du vin.
En plus de la musique et des rafraîchissements, nous comptons présenter un encan d’œuvres d’art.
Tous les profits de la soirée serviront à défrayer les coûts d’opération de l’école de Portage-du-Fort qui abrite la Galerie et l’école des arts et accueille le projet de résidence d’artistes.
Vous pouvez aider de plusieurs façons :
Premièrement, nous vous demandons d’offrir une œuvre pour vendre à cet encan.
Deuxièmement, nous comptons sur vous pour promouvoir l’évènement et vendre des billets à vos amis et connaissances, surtout à ceux qui apprécieront d’acheter des œuvres d’art à bon prix.
Réservez la soirée du 14 avril sur votre calendrier et venez avec vos amis et votre famille célébrer la richesse culturelle de notre coin de pays.

“Art Lives in the Pontiac” Fundraising Party
The Pontiac Artists’ Association is planning a community-wide party as a fundraiser for the PAA at the Stone School in Portage-du-Fort on the evening of April 14, 2012. We plan to sell tickets for $8 which will include desserts, coffee, and tea. Live music will be provided by the Ottawa band, “Hurry Up and Wait”, with additional guests, Phillip Holmes, Erica Vezeau, Kate Morgan, and Scott Judd as MC.
Beer and wine will be available to purchase.
Besides the delicious snacks, beverages, and entertainment, we’d like to feature an art auction.
All proceeds from the event will go to pay operating costs for the Stone School which houses the Gallery, Pontiac School of the Arts, and is home base for the Artists’ Residency Project.
There are a couple of ways you can help:
Firstly, we are asking for donations of fine crafts or art works for this auction.
Secondly, we will be counting on you to promote the event and to sell tickets to your friends and colleagues, especially those who love to purchase art, possibly at great prices!
So mark April 14th on your calendar and come celebrate with your friends and family that our small rural population has such a vibrant cultural center!
