- 25 juillet: Vernissage de l'exposition sur le thème de Champlain, au Centre communautaire de Luskville, 2024 route 148, municipalité de Pontiac.

- Du 26 juillet au 5 août: Défi Champlain 2013. Une excursion en canot de 11 jours sur les traces de Champlain, débutant au parc Brébeuf à Gatineau et se terminant au Musée canadien des civilisations. www.defisfsg.ca

- À partir du 27 juillet: Exposition itinérante sur le thème de Champlain, à Sault-des-Chats puis dans d'autres municipalités de la MRC du Pontiac.

- 27-28 juillet: Fin de semaine «Savourez le Pontiac», dans le village de Quyon, municipalité de Pontiac.

- July 25: Opening of the exhibition on the theme of Champlain, Luskville Community Centre, 2024 route 148, Municipality of Pontiac.

- July 26 to August 5: Défi Champlain (challenge) in 2013. An 11 day canoe trip on the trail of Champlain, up and down the Ottawa River, starting at Brebeuf Park in Gatineau and ending at the Canadian Museum of Civilization. www.defisfsg.ca (Fundraiser for Gatineau hospitals).

- From July 27: Travelling Exhibition on the theme of Champlain, at Sault-des-Chats.  Later in other municipalities of the MRC Pontiac.

- July 27-28: Weekend "Savour the Pontiac" in the village of Quyon, Municipality of Pontiac. Saturday evening: community supper and welcome to Défi Champlain canoers. Sunday: market, business showcase, activities for children.

Félicitations à MM. Séguin et Bouchard, qui ont pris l’initiative de marquer de façon grandiose le passage de l’explorateur français Samuel de Champlain qui remonta l’Outaouais en 1613. En décembre dernier, je suggérais ici que toutes les municipalités sur les rives de l’Outaouais « visitées » par Champlain (de Grenville-sur-la-Rouge à l’Isle-aux-Allumettes) soulignent son passage. Il y a quelques mois, j’ai contacté Tourisme Outaouais pour leur suggérer que la route 148 soit reconnue comme la « route Samuel-de-Champlain », à l’occasion de ce 400e anniversaire en 2013. Belle occasion pour revitaliser la 148 ! Autre idée : des canots qui quitteraient Montréal pour refaire le parcours de Champlain, s’arrêtant pour animer des activités locales reliées à son passage. Il ne faudrait pas oublier d’inviter les autochtones, sans lesquels Champlain se serait perdu !

Congratulations to MM. Séguin and Bouchard, who are taking the initiative to mark in a magnificent manner the passage of the French explorer Samuel de Champlain, who ascended the Ottawa River in 1613. Last December, I suggested here that all municipalities on the shores of the Ottawa River "visited" by Champlain (from Grenville-sur-la-Rouge to Isle-aux-Allumettes) highlight his journey. A few months ago, I contacted Ottawa Tourism to suggest that Highway 148 should be known as the "Samuel de Champlain highway," on the occasion of the 400th anniversary in 2013. What an opportunity to revitalize the 148! Another idea: leave Montreal in canoes to retrace the Champlain route, stopping for local activities related to his journey. We should not forget to invite the aboriginal community, without whom Champlain would have been lost!
